Belonging/Exclusion, 2011

Belonging/Exclusion consists of a false wall and door with the ambient sounds of a cocktail party played on repeat from behind the door. The desirable sounds of the party heighten the denial of access to the museum visitor. Context can be understood within the relational antagonism of Clair Bishop.
